Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.
It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
Can I first talk about how awesome Elle Kennedy is? She writes good NA and she’s the reason why I’m into it now.
The Score is the third book in Elle Kennedy’s stand-alone series. Off Campus is one of the series that I’m always excited to read. The Deal, which is the first book in the series is about Garrett and Hannah; The Mistake is about Logan and Grace; while this one is about Dean and Allie.
Elle Kennedy did it again with this book, It’s good, but it’s not as good as The Deal, which by the way, will always be my favorite.
Allie just got out of a relationship with her ex-boyfriend when she decided to spend the night at Dean’s house- which is also shared by Garrett, Logan, and Tucker- because her ex-boyfriend might come barging in their dorm. And the rest is history. I think Allie is a sweet girl with a green mind because of Dean’s doing. While Dean is a man who loves to fool around and lives a life of rainbows and unicorns, I guess that’s what happens when you come from money. I have to be honest if I say that this book is not for me because it contains a lot of hook-ups for my liking. I can tolerate a little bit, but not too much. The plot is good. Plot wise, I would choose The Deal, but if I have to choose among a relationship goal? It would be Dean and Allie’s because Allie is a tough girl, she doesn’t give up on what she wants and she’s not afraid to speak her mind.
I read in the latter part of the book that the next book will be Tucker’s. I hope that Elle Kennedy will also write Fitzy’s story because he’s a bookworm and we’re dying to read a story about a male bookworm.
